Hopefully Spring is Coming!

Hi everyone! Temperatures are rising here in the tiny Netherlands and the last snow is long gone now. Despite the rain that we got in return, Spring suddenly feels much nearer and so I decided to work with that. I used bright colours trying to pursue that wonderful feeling of the Winter that is about to end. This weekend will be a busy one, starting with a meeting with my fellow new design members of Scrapcorner which I am looking forward to a lot! But life also has its downsides, which is a visit to my grandfather who recently had a stroke and lost his sight and other functions :( Despite the intensive weekend I will try to visit you all! Today's creation was made for: There She Goes -- Birthday Card Lexi's Creations -- Anything Goes Flutter By Wednesday -- Open Theme The Treehouse -- Bling Have a nice weekend, hopefully with not too much snow for all of you in ENA!

Let's go to the Movies!

Hello! Despite my sister's birthday about three weeks ago, I haven't seen her yet (the lucky girl is on holidays to a tropical resort...!) to give her the present that I have. But it did give me plenty of time to make a very special wrapper. Some extra effort went into the doodles which I attached some domestuds to. In the heart of the flower is a spacer with a small rhinestone nested on pieces of black ribbon. The sentiment was made with photoshop and fits the present inside, which are several tickets for the cinema ["Bioscoopbon" is Dutch for cinema ticket ;-)]. Today's creation was made for: Lexi's Creations -- Anything Goes Simon Says Challenge -- 3 Types of Embellishments, 2 papers, 1 Image Little Red Wagon -- Ribbon! Cute Card Thursday -- Metal Mania! Have a nice evening!

Exciting news to share

Finally! I can share some really exciting news with you that required absolute silence for the past few days. Ageeth and Sandra selected six new design members at the Scrapcorner and I was one of them! So my challenge was to keep silent about it for several days... You cannot imagine how glad I was to be picked!! I am really looking forward to working together with my talented team members. I'm sure that it will be a lot of fun and that there will be much to learn from each other, so make sure you visit each of our blogs!
This is the Scrapcorner, for which all eight of us will be designing:

To celebrate this news I am planning a yummie candy so be sure to come back here soon!!!

February Sweet November

Hello, Tomorrow morning we'll go on a weekend to family to celebrate the birthday of my mother-in-law. It's (still) snowing here so I'm hoping that will not pose too many problems on the road. But before we leave I wanted to share a creation that I've been working on this afternoon. Yesterday I received the new rhinestones and spacers that I ordered and of course, I had to do something with them right away. This beautiful digitale image from Sweet November has small circles on the edges of her skirt which turned out to be the perfect bases for my brand new rhinestones! You may recognise my problem with some of the colours in the photos, which are not always truthful. This issue sometimes occurs with photographing cards and it is particularly visible on today's creation when you compare the pink of the skirt and the ribbon. I guess it has to do with the materials that they were made of, which apparently, photograph differently. Today's creation was made for: Crafty Cardmakers -- Use Digital Elements Creative Belli -- Ribbons C.R.A.F.T. Challenge -- Digi Colouring! Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge -- Dazzle Us!

Thanks for visiting everyone and have a great Valentine's weekend!

Fairy Happy Birthday

Hi everyone, Today was a really good day again after having felt uninspired for a while. It is snowing again outside which was a good reason for me to stay in and to work on a new creation. I must admit though that I am longing for that summer feeling of lying near a swimming pool in the hot sun. But winter is all about hanging on the couch with hot chocolate and a movie to enjoy. We were out of hot chocolate tonight but the couch and movie were definitely there! Now for the card: Yesterday I bought a new die from Marianne Design, who offered such a wondrous flower creatable. What is so remarkable about this item is that you can also insert ribbon in it. I put little pieces of ribbon in the leaves instead of pulling it through the heart of the flower. A charm was hung on one of the doodles that partially overhang the window in the middle. Today's creation was made for: Crafty Cardmakers -- Use Digital Elements Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge -- Monochrome Tones
Thanks everyone again for your support!
Fijne avond (which means "have a good evening" in Dutch ;-) )!

Butterfly Kisses

Hi everyone, This afternoon and evening were all about a particular card that I've been working on and am I glad it is finally finished! I had to redo the colouring two times which took me a long time to start with (call me a perfectionist... ;-) ). Also, I've been making sentiments myself for some time, but I wanted something different here and so I experimented with different fonts and images. Looking at the card after all the work put into it, I'm still not entirely satisfied with the result which I think has to do with the pink inside on which the sentiment is written. But I'm curious to hear what you think of it. Today's creation was made for: Flutter By Wednesday -- Open theme Crafty Creations Challenge -- Wings ABC Challenge -- N is for.. New stash

Criss Cross Valentine's day Card!

Hi all!
I bought this flower a while ago and fell instantly in love with it. The rounded tips are ideal for placing my favourite glimmery rhinestones (I just wonder, who made up that name anyway? ;-) ). Although the stones create a really nice effect, the trick is to get the good ones. That is, rhinestones that don't generate a huge amount of glue upon attaching them. These ones here are okay and cause a fair amount of glue residue, but there are much better ones, really, which I should be searching for. A stamp was not used for this card because it is a Valentine's gift for my mom, who really prefers classical cards. Simplicity was the key!
Today's creation was made for: Creative Card Crew -- Valentine's Double Dutch -- Valentine's Paper Sundaes -- Valentine's Sophisticat Challenge -- Love The Corrosive Challenge -- Love By The Cute And Girly -- Love Papertake Weekly Challenge -- Love Actually Cute Card Thursday -- Blooming Gorgeous! Humble Pie Stamps -- Flowery
Thanks for stopping by and hopefully you enjoyed the card!
